"Bad addr" message on passenger panel
The
command from the operator panel has a standardised format that includes an
address byte. The message on the passenger panel indicates that the format
received is unexpected.
The
fault could be with the operator panel, load cell cable or the passenger panel,
causing corruption of data transmission/reception, and the fault could be
intermittent or permanent. Sometimes a message like this could be caused by the
activation of a conveyor motor, with the spike as the conveyor starts, momentarily
disrupting the transmission. The latest passenger panels have additional
firmware to eliminate this momentary error.
We
advise that you try to swap the passenger panel with an adjacent unit, and then
the load cell cable to see if either of these parts is the cause.
Ensure
that the passenger display cable is separated from mains or other data lines
that could result in cross talk between the data lines.
If
it’s a momentary fault as described above, it may be simpler to replace the
passenger panel with the latest unit from Atrax.
