The computer at the check-in desk interfaces with the OP-960+ to capture the weight for each of the bags. The computer connection is local and uses the RS-232 port of the operator panel.

To pull the weight for their check-in system from the operator panel, the client has to write interface software as part of their passenger processing software system to request the weight from the scale using a <G><Cr><Lf> command, in response to which the operator panel will return the weight and status of the scale.
